The Rattlers Crush the Rush: 77 to 43.
What happens when four key Rattlers players come off the injured reserve list? A text book game with a big victory. Linebacker Kevin McCullough, Wide Receiver Trandon Harvey, Defensive Back Virgil Gray and Defensive Lineman Cliff Dukes all came off the inured reserve list to play in the game against the Chicago Rush last Saturday, May 12, 2012 at US Airways Center in downtown Phoenix.
Head coach Kevin Guy said “we were glad to have those four players back on the field and obviously we’re a different team when you have your play makers out there with your other player makers.”
The first quarter could have been a highlight film for the Rattlers with Harvey running a kick off for a TD and McCullough intercepting a pass for a TD. The Rattlers Glen Fox had an excellent game leading all receivers with 4 TD’s, 9 catches and 107 years.
“Competition brings out the best in everyone” Guy was referring to his wide recieving core consisting of Glen Fox, Markee White, Trandon Harey and Maurice Purify.
Chris Gould, the kicker had an outstanding game for the Rattlers creating 6 touch backs as wells as making 100% of his extra points.
The Rattlers defense stopped the Rush 5 times in the game. This was one of the better defensive efforts of the season and comes at a good time.
Althugh the Rush did not have their starting quareter back, Russ Michna, the Rattlers deserve lots of crediting for playing well in all three phases: offense, defense, and special teams.
