Bauer’s home debut against San Diego is short lived
Trevor Bauer drew quite a crowd during his unique warm up routine prior to making his home debut last night at Chase field. The crowd cheered as Bauer warmed up, especially when he threw the ball from close to the right field foul pole to almost the foul pole in left field. The cheers continued in the first inning when Bauer struck out the side. However, the pregame and the first inning were the highlights for Bauer as he lasted only 3 1/3 innings giving up 7 runs (one unearned), 6 hits, 4 walks and 1 home run. He had 4 strike outs. The Dbacks lost to the Padres 9 to 5 for their 4th straight loss.
The Dbacks are only 5 games behind the first place teams. (Dodgers & Giants tied). With the Dodgers coming into town for a big four game series starting on Thursday, the Dbacks need to get back to playing good baseball on all levels.
Paul Goldschmidt continues to play up to his potential with four hits last night raising his batting average to 308.
Jason Kuble hit his 13th home run and had 4 RBI’s.
