MLB: AZ Diamondbacks Preview
Friday night at 4:30PM AZ time, the Arizona Diamondbacks continue their ten game road trip with a three-game set against the Atlanta Braves. It will be a homecoming for Diamondbacks’ teammates Martin Prado and Randall Delgado; as they return to Atlanta for the first time since they were traded by the Braves. You can bet that Prado and Delgado (who starts tonight) are both looking forward to facing their former team.
Prado went 4-for-9 when the Braves visited the Diamondbacks May 13th through the 15th and I am sure would love to have a similar or even better showing in Atlanta.
The Diamondbacks, 42-36 on the year, had lost five straight on the road before beating Washington 3-2 in 11 innings Thursday. Aaron Hill, playing in his third game back since missing over two months with a broken left hand, hit a two-run homerun and Didi Gregorius drove in the go-ahead run with a bunt single. Heath Bell came in and picked up his 14th save. No homeruns were allowed by Bell on Thursday.
The Braves, 45-34, are coming off their sixth loss in nine games after the Royals beat them 4-3 in 10 innings on Wednesday. The Braves will send Julio Teheran, 5- 4 with a 3.32 ERA. Teheran lost his last start with a 2-0 loss at Milwaukee.
The Diamondbacks have lost six of their last seven in Atlanta and have been outscored by a 42-12 margin.
Saturday Ian Kennedy, off of his suspension, is the scheduled starter against Tim Hudson. Game time is 1PM Arizona time.
Sunday Trevor Cahill goes up against Paul Maholm. Game time is 10:30AM Arizona time.
