Dbacks on the road after 5 & 1 homestand.
The Dbacks start a 3 game series in Atlanta on Tuesday after going 5 & 1 at home this past week. The Dbacks took 2 out 3 from the Mariners early last week and just finished with a 3 game sweep over the Cubs. Although overall the pitching for the Dbacks has been inconsistent, Wade Miley came up with a big win over the Cubs last night. Miley pitched eight-innings allowing only three hits, and one-run. Miley now leads the D-backs in wins and ERA.
The Dbacks are 10-2 in their last two homestands and have been hitting the ball extremely well which is resulting in lots of runs. They produced 51 total runs against the Mariners and Cubs this past week. Several players continue to have hot bats including Jason Kubel. Kubel has hit six home runs in June with 23 RBIs for the month.
In addition to the offensive output, the Dbacks have excelled in their defensive game. After the club committed 30 errors and ranked near the bottom of the National League in team fielding in their first 47 games of the season the team has committed two errors in its last 24 games. The result of playing great defense recently has been reflected in the Dbacks moving to the top of the NL in fielding percentage at .988. The Dbacks are tied for second fewest errors in the Majors with 32.
