MLB: Tigers agree to extension with manager, Jim Leyland

The Detroit Tigers, coming off a disappointing World Series appearance after being swept in four games by the San Francisco Giants, have agreed to a one-year extension with manager, Jim Leyland.

Leyland, who turns 68 in December, has been with club for seven seasons, and has a 607-528 record during that time. He led the Tigers to an American League Central title this year, and of course the AL pennant. Despite the tough World Series, this season was definitely a success for the organization.
