MLB: Tigers obtain Sanchez and Infante from the Marlins
The Detroit Tigers bolstered their roster Monday acquiring pitcher Anibal Sanchez and second baseman Omar Infante from the Miami Marlins in exchange for top pitching prospect Jacob Turner, as well as prospects Rob Brantly and Brian Flynn.
The Tigers currently have a 1.5 game lead over the Chicago White Sox in the A.L. Central. This move should really help their postseason push. Sanchez will provide nice depth for the clubs starting rotation.
For the Marlins, expect more activity from them leading up to the July 31st non-waiver trade deadline. They are out of contention and are willing to move many veterans for additional prospects.
