NHL: Daily Tidbits

While every team in the NHL is near their halfway point in terms of games played and some are even at the 24-game halfway mark, we should start to see activity increase in the next few weeks in terms of trades, transactions, etc. The trade deadline is less than a month away on April 3rd. Lets take a look at some newsworthy items over the past few days.

The Chicago Blackhawks continue to keep their record point streak to start a season rolling, as now they have reached 23 games in which they haven’t lost in regulation and have earned at least a point.

While we still have half a season to play, as of Wednesday morning, all five Pacific Division teams are currently in a playoff spot. While I do expect that change, it does show how tough and deep this division really is.

Also as of Wednesday, with both Roman Hamrlik and Tom Kostopoulos being claimed off waivers by the New York Rangers and New Jersey Devils respectively, we have now seen 18 players claimed off waivers this season.
